CHRISTA Essig
I weaved my way through various aspects of the food system from studying nutrition and global environmental health, researching pesticide exposure in farmworkers and access to healthy food in Atlanta and Chicago, built farmers markets and community gardens, created institutional sustainable food purchasing guidelines, advocated for healthy and sustainable food and farm policy while at the CDC and USDA, and poultry supply chain change through NGOs. The past 8 years I moved into the private sector developing the farm to table program at Google, led sustainability efforts with the food program, and launched the ReGen Lab at Google, an impact network in the climate and built environment industry. Recently I've been inspired to explore how inner development work supports the outer world for living systems change, with a certification in meditation teaching and other schools and modalities, to shift mindsets for a regenerative worldview and more conscious life.
