Coalition for Scaling Agroforestry

  • A network of leaders working together to scale agroforestry in North America, including multiple working groups focused on policy, market development and technical assistance, finance, communications/advocacy, ecosystem services, demonstration farms, and tree nurseries.

  • In its first year of operation, the network helped leverage significant gains in policy and finance. It continues to build trust among key stakeholders while diversifying and expanding its coalition of over 100 key public and private sector leaders and producers.

  • In the second year of operation, the coalition is adding an Indigenous Agroforestry Working Group to provide a space for leaders working within or with Tribal governments to share experiences, workshop challenges, and develop collaborative initiatives.

  • In 2024, the coalition is also offering a training series focused on community organizing and facilitation to empower agroforestry leaders working in organizational settings where the network development, relational, and grassroots power-building elements of their work are under-acknowledged and under-supported.
