Folami Harris has 30 years of experience directing health and development programs, with 15 years living in Africa. She has led health interventions in Zambia, South Africa, Botswana and Guyana at national and community levels. Most recently, she led the US Department of State DREAMS Innovation Project, a regional initiative across 10 countries in East and southern Africa. Folami has also provided technical support for HIV prevention and response in Senegambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan.
Folami is an accomplished trainer, facilitating learning across a range of contexts –from well-resourced classrooms to low-resourced community settings. Her expertise includes curricula design, communications for social change, and gender equity promotion. All of these experiences have highlighted the urgency of understanding the relationship we have with all life. Agroforestry is an important key to honoring life and our place within that cycle.
