Jacob Jung

U.S. Army ERDC

I am a Research Wildlife Biologist with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and have been in this position for nearly 10 years. My focus area is ornithology, oftentimes with threatened, endangered, or at-risk species. One of my duties at ERDC is to serve as a Technical Coordinator for the Department of Defense Partner’s in Flight (DoD PIF). One of the major goals of DoD PIF is to determine mission-sensitive species that if listed would have the greatest impact to DoD. We work with our installation natural resource managers to conserve habitat to promote these species and monitor avian populations. Grasslands are one of our focal habitats as this ecosystem supports numerous mission-sensitive species for DoD.
