Jessica Bolduc
Anishinaabe Ojibway from Batchewana First Nation
4Rs Youth Movement
Aanii Boozhoo, my name is Jess and I live, work and play in Anishinaabe Aki, Batchewana First Nation - the territory of my Ojibway ancestors. My genetics have been fused with the berries, the fish, the wild rice, deer and the moose of gchi gaamig - Lake Superior, baawating - Sault Ste. Marie, and ketegaunseebee - Garden River, the lands which I call my home. I am a descendant of generations of healers, tinkerers, adventurers. Medicine people, singers, dancers from my Anishinaabe Ojibway family; apothecaries, creators and inventors on my French-Irish settler lineages. I am from the bear clan and consider myself accountable to my ancestors and future generations, to protect and be in relationship with our plant medicines, and to bring healing and joy into our communities. My role at this retreat will be to hold space for this group as a facilitator. I see my role as a facilitator to help notice and acknowledge the gifts of wisdom present and make an invitation to that person, to this group, to the community that might emerge, to keep giving those gifts.
