Laura Lengnick has worked for decades to put sustainability values into action as a researcher, policymaker, educator, and farmer. She led award-winning soil health and sustainable farming research at USDA and served as a lead author of the USDA report, “Climate Change and Agriculture in the United States: Effects and Adaptation.” Laura has led national, state, and regional projects exploring the advantages of working lands as a community resilience strategy. The 2nd edition of her book, Resilient Agriculture: Cultivating Food Systems for a Changing Climate (New Society, 2022) explores climate change, resilience, and the future of food through the adaptation stories of innovative farmers and ranchers growing food across the U.S. You can learn more about this work at realworldresilience.com.
