Hawthorne Valley Association
My relationship with Hawthorne Valley began 39 years ago, and I have had the privilege of being the executive director since 2003. Hawthorne Valley has provided me with the opportunity to weave three core strands of my biography – a reverence for nature, a love of community, and an interest in food - into my journey of becoming. For the past ten years, I have been walking my granddaughter to school each morning down the same path that I walked with her mother. Amidst this blessed existence, it is impossible to ignore the ecological and social crises threatening all that I hold sacred. Being part of an organization that has put care for land and children at the center of its mission has been a source of hope. I am honored and grateful to be able to join with others in co-creating the conditions for life and love to flourish.
