Melissa McGill Studio

As an artist, activist and water storyteller, I create projects that bring us together in awe, wonder and empathy to reanimate our connection with water’s life force and inspire support for its regeneration. My artistic practice is rooted in methods that engage our senses and hearts with sacred stories that have the potential to move and transform us. My projects take the form of highly collaborative sensory and experiential public artworks that honor underrepresented voices and sustainable traditions in ways that facilitate ongoing positive environmental impact. Public art can be a great cross-pollinator and my collaborations engage a wide range of individuals, diverse communities and organizations. In NY, they include the United Nations, Riverkeeper, Lenape Center, Scenic Hudson, Clearwater, Oceana, NYS Parks, Hudson Highlands Land Trust, Magazzino Italian Art, public schools and more. I am animated by the co-creating of new visionary stories that heed nature’s inherent wisdom.
