Recently, taking part in a course, someone offered the words "the earth has the power to make us each indigenous". There is complexity and tension to this statement. But my takeaway, was that we were using the word indigenous as a representation of a relationship. That we can work to have an authentic relationship to life, rooted in where are are. This connection seems to be what we are begging for, but are stuck employing other tactics that are often fruitless. I am excited by Just Transition, seeing our current predicament from a holistic lens and guiding the work through mindfulness.
