LA Sanitation and Environment
Michelle Barton is an Environmental Supervisor with LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN). Michelle manages the City of LA’s Healthy Soils Program and Biodiversity Program. She facilitated the creation of the first Healthy Soils Strategy for the City of Los Angeles and recently completed the baseline measurement of the brand new LA Biodiversity Index. She is actively working with internal and external partners to advance pilot projects and initiatives that aim to create healthy soils and protect biodiversity. Michelle earned her B.S. in Biology from UCLA in 2010 and her M.S. in Biology from CSULB in 2016.
