Nicole Balloffet

Nicole Balloffet is the National Reforestation and Nursery System Program Manager for National Forests with the USDA Forest Service. In this position, she is responsible for national reforestation and nursery policy, strategy, budget, and implementation of the REPLANT Act. She provides oversight of the Forest Service Nursery System and the Agency’s national reforestation partnership program. Nicole has worked on developing ecosystem services and markets with State and Private Forestry and began her Forest Service career in 2008 at the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF) in Puerto Rico. Prior to the Forest Service, she spent six years with The Nature Conservancy’s Mesoamerica and Caribbean program. She also served as an environmental educator as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama. She holds a Master of Science in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development and a Master of Public Policy with a focus on Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Outside of work, she and her husband keep busy with two boys, a cat, and a black lab.
