Seth Gallagher

National Fish & Wildlife Foundation

Seth is the Program Director for Grasslands and Mountain West for The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) in Fort Collins, Colorado where he manages NFWF's Northern and Southern Great Plains Grasslands, Rocky Mountain Rangelands and Big Game Migrations Programs. Seth serves as a liaison for NFWF with grantees and funders and manages the annual competitive grant process as well as on-going grant management across the four programs which annually award approximately $40 million to 70 projects throughout the Great Plains and Intermountain West.

He is an ardent proponent of the delivery of win-win conservation efforts within the rural ranching communities of the west. Seth spent eleven years with Bird Conservancy of the Rockies managing their private lands program in partnership with Colorado Parks and Wildlife among other agencies, which placed biologist in communities around to West to provide technical assistance, habitat restoration funding and expertise to landowners. Prior to working at NFWF, Seth was employed by Pheasant Forever and the Intermountain West Joint Venture and managed the field capacity component of the Sage Grouse Initiative which involved the oversight of 26 field positions involving over 40 funding partners across 10 states.

Seth holds degrees in Wildlife & Fisheries Management from Minot State University, (ND) – Bottineau and Lincoln Memorial University, (TN) and attended graduate school at Central Michigan University in Conservation Biology. Seth resides in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife, Christin, son Will and pointing dogs Isabeall and Jasper.
