Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance

I'm currently the CEO of the Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance, a new non-profit that supports the 16 Native nations in the Northern Great Plains with building capacity and conserving grasslands. Prior to this position I worked as a wildlife biologist for the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe for nearly 25 years where I focused primarily on species conservation but also collaborated with co-workers on grassland restoration projects. My love for the grasslands stems from growing up on the prairies of the Lower Brule Indian Reservation in South Dakota and I was fortunate to have done the research for my Master's and Doctoral degrees on the reservation. I still live on the reservation and when I'm not working I spend my free time hunting, fishing, and raising cattle and native grasses for seed production.
