Susanna Sutherland

Dr. Susanna Sutherland works across sectors facilitating strategy development and collaborations that foster climate resiliency in water and energy systems. She and her team provide a wide range of planning, convening, technical assistance, process support, and impact tracking to various staff groups, committees, and membership bodies. This helps organizations identify and understand local root causes, develop regional and community programs and partnerships to address them, and evaluate the impacts of their actions so they can adjust course and prioritize their annual workloads.

In previous roles, Susanna worked in the hydropower division of a 7-state utility (TVA) and as a city sustainability director (Knoxville, TN). She has a doctorate in Energy Science and Engineering, a master’s in Biosystems Engineering, and a bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the University of Tennessee.
