The Farm at Sinking Creek

I have spent tremendous time on foot and horseback observing grasslands from Africa to Texas, eastern Oregon to the great Bob Marshall Wilderness including the massive central prairies of this country, all observing and understanding the balances of flora and fauna unique to every area.

On my farm in Appalachia, I have dedicated a mountain tract of land to raising healthy grass-fed beef. I specifically designed this land to accommodate clean, natural and organic grazing, while leaving two-thirds of the land to support intensely diverse mountain wildlife and restoring riparian borders. The result allowed choice to be in the equation and created a circle of health for everything involved: the land, waterways, beaver, otter, border trees in silvo-pastures, grasses, cattle, wildlife, and, ultimately, the human consumers.
